Privacy Policy

What we collect, and what we don’t.

Last updated 4 September 2026. This policy covers hostavision.com and any service you buy through it.

The short version

We collect what we need to answer you, bill you and keep your site running. Nothing else.

We don’t sell data

Not to advertisers, not to list brokers, not to anyone. Your email is not a product.

We never see your card

Card details go straight to Stripe. We only ever see the last four digits.

SECTION 1

What we collect

When you contact us: your name, email, phone if you give it, your website address and whatever you write in the message.
When you buy hosting: billing name and address, email, the plan you chose, and a payment token from Stripe. Card numbers never reach our servers.
Automatically: server logs including IP address, browser and pages visited, kept for security and troubleshooting.
Anonymously: general traffic statistics through Google Analytics — how many people visit and which pages they read, not who you are.
SECTION 2

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, quote your work, run your hosting account, take payment, and contact you about your service — a renewal, an expiring card, planned maintenance, or a security matter that affects your site.

We do not add you to a marketing list because you filled in a contact form. If we ever start a newsletter, you will have to ask for it.

SECTION 3

Who else sees it

Only the services we need to run the business, and only the part each one needs:

Stripe, our payment processor, to take payment and issue refunds
Hostinger, our upstream infrastructure provider, whose servers your site runs on
Google Analytics, for anonymous traffic statistics only
Law enforcement, only where we are legally required to respond

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. There is no exception to that.

SECTION 4

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t turn into work are cleared out once it’s plain nothing is happening — we don’t sit on them. Billing records are kept for seven years because tax law requires it. Our host keeps standard server logs for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then clears them automatically.

When you cancel, your hosting simply stops at the end of the period you’ve paid for. Most clients who leave have already moved their site and pointed their domain to its new home, so there’s nothing to untangle. We don’t keep old sites online indefinitely once an account is closed.

SECTION 5

Your rights

Email admin@hostavision.com and we will, within 30 days: tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete what we are not legally required to keep, or send you a copy in a portable format.

You do not need to give a reason, and asking will not affect your service.

SECTION 6

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember what’s in your cart, and keep the checkout secure. Those are necessary — the site does not work without them.

Google Analytics also sets cookies to count visits. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can switch cookies off in your browser, or use Google’s opt-out add-on, and the site will still work.

SECTION 7

Data on the sites we host

If we host your website, any personal data your own visitors submit to it belongs to you, not us. You are the controller of that data; we process it on your behalf as part of providing hosting.

We access it only when you ask us to, or when we have to in order to fix or secure your site.

SECTION 8

Children, changes and contact

Our services are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If this policy changes materially we will email active customers before it takes effect. Questions go to admin@hostavision.com — Host A Vision, south of Chicago, Illinois.
